Create a Google Form
  • Make sure you are logged into your Google Apps account
  • Click Create and choose Form
  • First question needs be Name
  • Then type in all of your questions
  • Make the answers multiple choice, true/false, or checkboxes
  1.     If you do not make them one of these three you cannot do the automatic grading
  • Make sure to uncheck the box at the top that says "Require Aldine Login to complete form"
  1.     If you do not uncheck this box, your students will not be able to complete unless they log into their google account and it may take a while to get     them all logged in
  • Once you have completed your quiz/assignment, Click the "view Live form" button
  • Complete the assignment using your name and all of the correct answers, you will need this to grade the assignment
Have the students complete the form
  • There are different ways of having the students get to the form to complete it
  1. Type the web address into the search bar (takes time)
  2. If you have tablets, Create a QR code of the web site for the students to scan (directions below)
  3. If you have tablets, Use Chirp (an app that sends a sound to send links to other devices)
  4. Share the link with the students in their google Drive by pasting it into a document (this only works if your students know how to log into their google drive account)
  • Make sure that all students have completed the form before grading the assignment/quiz
  • Shortened URL/QR code
  • In the top left corner when in Google Chrome, Click on APPS
  • In the search bar, type in URL shortener
  • The one we used is Goo.gl URL Shortener
  • Once installed, it will show up as a small icon in the top right of your Chrome browser
  • Go to the LIVE FORM and then Click on the Icon
  • It will show the shortened URL or you can click on show QR code and copy the QR code so you can print or show on the projector
  • Also Chirp is another app that you can use to send out the a link, picture, or note
Grade the assignment using Flubaroo
  • First you need to install the script
  1. Go to the spreadsheet that has the answers from all of the students.
  2. Click on Insert at the top of the page by Tools and File
  3. Click on Script at the bottom of the drop down menu
  4. In the search bar, type in Flubaroo and click search
  5. Click Install next to Flubaroo
  6. There will be a couple of more boxes to click yes or install
  • Once the script is installed you should see the word Flubaroo in the list at the top of your page
  • Click on the word Flubaroo
  • Click Grade Assignment
  • First screen will let you set the point value of each question if you want to change that
  • Second screen ask you to choose which answers to use when grading. (this is why you needed to answer the quiz first so you have an answer key)
  • Once you have done that it will grade the assignment and give you the scores
  • It gives you a breakdown by student, by question, and by overall class assignment
  • You can get a bar graph of the results by clicking on Flubaroo at the top and then choosing View Report to show the bar graph of the grades for the class
